What SEO is and why it matters for a local business
A jargon-free explanation of how Google chooses which businesses to show, and what you can do about it.

What SEO actually means
SEO stands for search engine optimisation. Put simply, it’s everything you do so that Google shows you when someone types “dentist Novi Sad” or “car service Zemun”. It isn’t advertising and you don’t pay per click. Once you’re among the top results, you stay there as long as the website stays good.
How Google decides who to show
Google tries to guess who best answers what the person searched for. It checks whether the website clearly says what the business does and where it is, whether it loads quickly on a phone, whether other websites and maps mention the business, and whether the details match everywhere.
What Google looks at most for a local business:
Why it matters for a local business in particular
Big companies compete across whole countries. You compete for your city or district, where there is far less competition. A business with a tidy website and a complete Google profile often overtakes bigger competitors who haven’t done that. Every client who finds you on Google is a client you didn’t pay an ad for.
An ad stops working the day you stop paying for it. SEO still works next year.
What you can do right now
Complete your Google Business Profile, including opening hours and photos. Ask happy clients for a review. Check that your website clearly says what you do and in which city. Those three things cost nothing and give the most.
What we do
First we look at how clients find you today and where you lose them. Then we fix the technical side of the website, write content that answers clients’ questions and set up your map listing. Results usually show within two to three months, and every month you get a report in plain language.
The short answer
SEO is how clients find you on their own, without paid ads. For a local business, it’s the best-value investment after the website itself.
