01
Problem
Patient data was kept in several places.
Records, examination results and reports were kept separately. Finding one patient’s history took time, and patients had to be reminded about follow-up visits by hand, one by one.

Work that gets used every day.
What we built, who we built it for, and how it is used day to day.
Case study
uVid
A web app for opticians and eye clinics.
02
Solution
One app for the whole practice.
We built uVid, a web app that keeps everything about a patient in one place, prepares reports for printing and sends SMS reminders for follow-up visits on its own. It runs in a web browser, with nothing to install.
What uVid does
Patient records
Everything about a patient in one place, with quick search by name.
Examinations
Record results and prescriptions, alongside the full history of earlier visits.
Printed reports
A clean report with the practice’s details, ready to print in one click.
SMS reminders
Patients automatically get an SMS when it is time for a follow-up visit.
Statistics
Patients and examinations by period, clearly on one screen.
03
Result
What the optician gets today.
Everything in one place
Each patient’s record, examinations and reports are available right away, without searching folders and spreadsheets.
Reports without retyping
Examination results go straight into a report that is ready to print.
Reminders go out on their own
Patients get an SMS for their follow-up visit, and staff don’t have to call them.
A clear view of the business
Statistics show how many patients and examinations there were in each period.
uVid is in daily use at a family-run optician.
